A Motto which we all know is something that drives us on. It is that fuel which keeps the car moving or that inspiration which helps us move steadily towards our destination.





Many times, we tend to confuse Goal and Motto as synonymous. But that isn’t true. Goal is your destination which you desire to reach while a Motto can be considered as a particular ‘good’ ethic which we carry towards that destination. For instance, reaching that nearby hill station is your destination but getting your car filled with petrol or any other fuel is a smart move to ensure that you reach there safely without interruptions which can be considered as the Motto.

Motto in business is not different and doesn’t deviate from this definition. However, business mottos are related to the way you provide your services or the ethical standards you place in delivering your services. The above mentioned quote is a great example of the same.

Of course, you can have a Motto even before your company is born in order to ensure its perfect evolution. That’s the beauty of this concept. It can be used before any possible initiative. Thus, a Motto in short is not only meant to guarantee success of your tasks or services but also to establish a good impression among the audience who could be deeply influenced by your ethics and adhere to your services for a lifetime perhaps!





Ethics differ with Mottos but the chain of ethics in a sentence is what we call a Motto. A motto describes your ethics, shows how you work, and can act as a mini catalogue of trust which every interested buyer looks for.

For instance, your company has some important Mottos that resonate with the aspiring buyer and keep him deeply impressed. Now the next move of that aspiring buyer is considering your genuineness and reliability which seems certain with your mottos and then voila! The aspiring buyer becomes an interested customer.

But as time passes, you are unable to observe a variety of customers, instead the regular customers keep turning up. That’s when you resort to up gradations and tune your services with that extra convenience factor to attract different consumers and also to gain ample recognition. Of course, if possible, you also introduce new services because variety seems appealing always! With so many new services and changes in the existing ones, managing the quality of your services is getting difficult and that’s when a good motto comes into handy. Though you are trying hard to live up to your ethics but when a Motto is created, your mind seems to get the bulls eye or a target with which it can work faster and efficiently. A motto can be considered as that resolution which motivates you to work. Your motto after introducing the variety could be, ‘Not letting any customer go dissatisfied.’ Feed this to your mind and it’s more than enough. This is a motto that generalizes all the possible business ethics which you would be henceforth focusing on.


In short, a Motto provides Self- Motivation for which you don’t need others to pat your back and drag you towards a process. A good Company Motto can show your efficient work cycle, ethics, and genuineness in just a few sentences! A good motto can encompass your attitude towards the services you offer so, be careful when introducing a Motto! You don’t want people to think negatively about your company and its services after all!
